How do I register with Kent Nannies?
By filling in the online registration form and attaching your up to date cv. Once we have received this, we will contact you and arrange for you to come and meet us for an interview.
You can also register by phone or by sending your cv and application form through the post.
Do I have to come and meet you for an interview?
Yes. It is essential that we meet all of our nannies and childcarers so we can be sure that we match you to the right position. We also feel that as we are running a very personal matching service it is vital that we know all of our candidates by face and name.
What do I need to bring with me to the interview?
- An up to date cv (if not e mailed to us).
- Three forms of original ID i.e. drivers licence, passport, birth certificate.
- Original childcare certificates.
- Copies of references from previous childcare employers.
- Original CRB & first aid certificate.
Once I have been interviewed, what is the next step?
Once the interview has taken place, your references will be verbally checked and once we are happy with this we can let you know of any positions that we consider are suitable for you.
Interview advice
We know that interviews can be daunting at first but just try to be yourself. Here are some basic tips for successful interviewing:
- Dress well. First impressions always count. Make sure you are smart, tidy & clean.
- Make sure you take suitable documentation with you to the interview so the parents can look at any original certificates and references.
- Prepare with a list of suitable questions to ask. Never talk about money first and never list what you won’t do. Always be positive.
- If the children are present in the interview, make sure you get down to their level and talk to them. Parents are looking for good childcare skills and this is an ideal opportunity to show them off!
- The most important thing is to be yourself. Relax and enjoy yourself.
Kent Nannies will guide you through the interview process and offer support and assistance whenever we can. It is our policy to always contact the nanny in the first few weeks of her placement to make sure everyone is happy.
